Opera GX users can also expect more titles to circulate on the browser. The winning title was Operius from a developer known as Mors (Opens in a new window), who received a $10,000 cash prize from the company. The game was created from a contest the company announced (Opens in a new window) in July, which attracted 900 entries created with the Opera-owned Game Maker Studio2. Users of Opera GX can also access the game simply by typing "opera://operius" in the browser’s address bar. For now, the game is only available on the desktop version of Opera GX. The gameplay involves controlling a ship as it races down a tunnel filled with alien enemies and obstacles, which you can dodge or blast right through. If you’re curious, you can currently play (Opens in a new window) Operius on the Game Jolt website, and it’s pretty fun. It also features integration with Twitch and Discord, so you can video stream and chat with your friends. Launched in 2019, the browser can let you limit how much RAM and CPU resources it’s using, thus freeing up computing power for your gaming sessions.
